Book 2 Post 1
For my second book, I want to read Dr. Rick Hanson's "Resilient: How to Grow an Unshakable Core of Calm, Strength, and Happiness." I'm excited to learn how to build resilience and inner peace in an ever-changing world. It seems like so much is happening in the world these days, and it's easy to get consumed by external factors. Many of us, including myself, turn to mindless scrolling on our devices to escape reality and divert our attention. I'm trying to improve my daily habits and avoid overwhelming myself with meaningless media. I believe it's vital to grow strengths inside, like grit, gratitude, and compassion, which is mentioned in the book description as well.
The world is hard to count on these days, so why not focus on what you can control. I'm excited to read about how the author defined true resilience. When I hear the word "resilience," I think of people persevering through tough times, but I know it's so much more than that. I hope the book can challenge my current conceptions and offer a different perspective. I also like how the book contains practical suggestions, examples, and insights into staying calm in adversity. I hope to incorporate some of these practices into my daily routine or whenever I feel overwhelmed.
I will start working full-time in July. I can feel stressed about the future, and a book like this will help me feel more grounded. Just like the title, I want to grow an UNSHAKABLE core of calm, strength, and happiness. I just ordered the book, and I can't wait to start reading.
